A Special Invitation for Reiki

Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to share a special opportunity with our Reiki community.

On October 3–4, 2026, roughly 300 paddlers — many of them cancer survivors, patients, and their supporters — will cross the ʻAuʻau Channel by outrigger canoe from Maui to Lānaʻi (36 mile paddle RT) in the 17th Annual Paddle for Life, benefiting the Pacific Cancer Foundation. This will be my third time participating and I’ve been invited to coordinate a team of Reiki practitioners to offer mini Reiki sessions in the Wellness Village for the event.

I’m looking for 8–10 Reiki practitioners who feel called to join me in this beautiful act of service on Saturday October 3, with the option to camp overnight.

When the paddlers come ashore at beautiful Hulopoʻe Beach Park on Lanai, they will be greeting in Hawaiian interisland ceremonial traditions and be welcomed into the Wellness Village — a recovery space offering massage, restorative yoga, Qigong, a hydration station, and healing care for tired paddlers who have just given everything to the water.

The Pacific Cancer Foundation would love for Reiki to be part of that healing and inviting volunteer Reiki practitioners to offer mini sessions in the Wellness Village on Saturday, October 3, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., as paddlers arrive and recover on the beach.

As a mahalo, volunteer practitioners receive:

• • Round-trip ferry passage between Maui and Lānaʻi, at no cost
  • Overnight camping (optional) at Hulopoʻe Beach Park with our paddling ʻohana — falling asleep to the ocean under the Lānaʻi sky. Enjoy Sunday and return to Maui on the ferry.
  • Lunch and dinner provided on Saturday
  • Time after 2:00 p.m Saturday. to explore Lānaʻi City and the island, or simply enjoy the beach and catch the last ferry back to Maui if your not sleeping over.
  • A place in our yoga class — join the restorative session offered for paddlers that evening
  • A tax deduction — Pacific Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your unreimbursed out-of-pocket volunteer expenses may be tax-deductible, and we’re happy to document your volunteer service
  • And the best part: the joy of laying hands in service — offering calm, balance, and healing energy to people at a powerful moment in their cancer journey.

Because the Foundation would like to include Reiki in their promotional materials, I’d love to hear from anyone who is seriously interested as soon as possible. An immediate commitment isn’t necessary, but I do need to know who is intending to reserve the weekend so I can confidently let them know we’ll have a Reiki team ready to serve.
