Tis’ the Season

Tis' the Season

As we arrive at the close of the year, the Reiki field invites us into a softer rhythm. December is a time of integration, reflection, and gentle release, a moment to gather the lessons of the year and honor how far we’ve come.

Closing Reflection for 2025

This season invites us to pause, breathe, and come home to ourselves.

Reiki reminds us that transformation is not only the big moments — it is the accumulated practice of presence, compassion, stillness, and courage throughout the year.

As we complete this cycle:

  • What are you ready to release with gratitude?
  • What wisdom did 2025 offer you?
  • What strength have you gained?
  • Where is your heart guiding you in the new year ahead?

Reiki supports us in gently closing old chapters while illuminating the path forward. May this month bring you clarity, peace, and the warmth of inner light returning.

Thank you for being part of this community, for the way you show up, heal, learn, and contribute to the collective energy of Maui and beyond. I look forward to stepping into 2026 with you — grounded, inspired, and connected.

Remembering Our Lineage

This month, we honor the profound lineage that lives within every one of us who receives Reiki. December holds a special resonance in the story of Hawayo Takata, the woman who brought Reiki from Japan to the Western world through Hawaii, and whose dedication made all of our continued healing with Reiki possible.

Hawayo Takata

Takata was born on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, December 24, 1900, and passed away on December 11, 1980, exactly 45 years after she began her own Reiki training on December 11, 1935 in Japan. Forty-five years of living, teaching, transmitting, and embodying Reiki — to the very day. It is a remarkable symmetry, a testament to a life fully devoted to service.

Even more beautifully, her birthday was December 24th. In many ways, Reiki was her offering to the world — a light she carried and passed forward during a season where we celebrate hope, illumination, and renewal.

As members of this lineage, we pause to acknowledge:

  • the courage she carried
  • the vision she held
  • the healing she awakened in countless people
  • and the global ripple we are still part of today

Her story is our story. Each time we place our hands, recite the precepts, or choose compassion, we continue the living thread of her work.
