As we arrive at the close of the year, the Reiki field invites us into a softer rhythm. December is a time of integration, reflection, and gentle release, a moment...
A New Year, A New Nervous System Story

January isn’t just a new calendar year—it’s a reset for the body, the nervous system, and how we meet life.
So often, we think change happens through effort or force.
But true transformation happens when the body feels safe enough to receive something new.
This month, I’ve been deeply reflecting on the somatic language of Reiki—the sensations we feel during self-practice and sessions, and how they differ from stress responses or trauma loops.
When Reiki is flowing, sensations might include:
- warmth or coolness
- gentle pulsing or waves
- soft emotional release (tears without a story attached)
- a feeling of settling, grounding, or internal “yes”
These sensations are different from trauma activation, which often feels:
- urgent or overwhelming
- looping thoughts
- tightness without relief
- emotional charge without resolution
Reiki doesn’t push the body to relive trauma.
It supports the body in re-orienting to safety, allowing release at the pace the nervous system can integrate.
As we step into this new year, my invitation is simple:
listen to the body first.
Regulation creates clarity. Safety creates movement.
And that intention weaves through everything I’m offering: from sessions, workshops, to trainings.
Closing Reflection
As we begin this year, remember:
You don’t need to rush into becoming something new.
Your body already knows the way forward.
Reiki simply helps you listen.
If any of these offerings feel like a gentle “yes” in your body, I’d love to welcome you.
